EPF Form 19 – A Complete Guide for Final PF Settlement Online

Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) is a retirement scheme where both  public and private sector employees contribute a fixed percentage of their salary towards it on a monthly basis. In Fact the employer also makes an equal contribution to these individual employees’ EPF accounts.

Employees can withdraw these funds at the time of retirement. This EPF fund can also be withdrawn if the employee is not fit to continue working, or when they have left a job. You have to fill the Form 19 and submit it if you are planning to withdraw your epf balance check on mobile number.

When can you use Form 19?

Only if you are planning to withdraw your EPF account funds for final settlement you should use Form 19. Additionally, the Form 19 can be used for withdrawing pension benefits and to get a PF non-refundable advance. You can use the first two options while leaving your job or for retirement. However, the last option is to be used while you are in service only when certain conditions are fulfilled.

How Does Form 19 Look?

EPF Form 19 generally consists of two pages only. On the first page you have to provide your personal details, contact information and your preferred mode of payment. The following fields are there on first page: 

• Father’s/husband’s name, and date of birth
• Name and address of your Organisation
• PF account number and/or Universal Account Number (UAN)
• Date of leaving the job and reason for leaving
• Permanent Account Number (PAN)
• Complete postal address
• Mode of payment – Money order on your expense, account payee cheque, or electronic mode of payment

The second page consists of an advance stamp receipt. You have to fill it only if you have selected cheque as the mode of payment.

How to Fill Form 19 Online?

Step 1: Visit the online EPF Member portal

Step 2: Enter your UAN, password, and captcha in order to sign in to the portal.

Step 3: Click on the ‘Online Services’ section and then select ‘Claim Form – 31, 19, 10C & 10D’.

Step 4: On Form 31, 19, 10C & 10D page, a pre-filled form will be shown to you with your name, father/husband name, date of birth, contact number, KYC details, and service details.

Step 5: You have to verify your bank account details and enter the last four digits of your bank account number in the text box. Then click on the ‘Verify’ button for account verification  if you are an authorised owner of the account.

Step 6:Once the verification has been successful, mention the details such as Date of Ending (DOE) EPF and EPS accounts. Provide the reason for leaving.

Step 7: Click on ‘Yes’ in order to sign the ‘Certificate of Undertaking’.

Step 8: Click on ‘I want to apply for’, and select the ‘Only PF Withdrawal (Form 19)’ from the drop-down options.

Step 9: Enter the complete postal address, select the disclaimer, and then click on ‘Get Aadhaar OTP’.

Step 10: You will receive an OTP on the registered mobile number. Enter the OTP in the required field in order to proceed further.

Step 11: Submit your application.

Step 12: A reference number will be displayed on screen upon successful submission.

Step 13: The PF amount withdrawn will be deposited to your bank account that is linked with the UAN.

What are the pre-requisites for filing Form 19?

Before applying for withdrawal with Form 19, you must keep the following things ready:

• You have to activate your UAN on the epfo login Member portal.
• Ensure that your UAN is linked with your bank account as well as PAN.
• Link your mobile number with UAN.
• Check your eligibility for final settlement. In case you are not eligible, the form will not be displayed.
• You can fill the form only after two months of leaving the job or after retirement.
