Know about Kadai Paneer
Paneer dishes are the favourite of all Indians. And one paneer dish is common to be found in the menus of all the restaurants and that is – Kadai Paneer.
Because the paneer is cooked in Kadai, it is known as Kadai Paneer.
To make the main spice mix to be used in the dish, you will need the following ingredients:
- Dried Red Chillies
- Coriander Seeds
- Fennel Seeds
- Green Cardamom
Step 1: You need to dry roast all these ingredients together. It will make sure that the flavours are beautifully getting locked in it. The main thing because of which these spices are added is that more of the flavours can be enjoyed in a particular dish. After dry roasting all the ingredients, allow them to cool down. Once they are cooled then make sure to grind them.
Step 2: If it is possible and convenient for you, then make fresh and homemade cheese. Otherwise, you can buy it from the market. But make sure you are soaking it in the water for about 20 to 25 minutes.
Step 3: Take a large Kadai and then add some butter to it. Make sure you are adding the oil alongside to avoid the butter from getting burnt.
Step 4: Add the finely chopped onions and roast them at the simmered heat for about 3 minutes. Once browned, then add the chillies and ginger garlic paste.
Step 5: Now it’s time to add the chopped tomatoes. It would be better if you add the puree.
Step 6: Now add the spice mix, garam masala, and the red chilli powder. Add all three of these simultaneously.
Step 7: Add ½ cup of the water
Step 8: It’s time to add the main flavour providing ingredients and those are cream, salt and the mix
Step 9: It’s time to add the flavour enhancing ingredients. Add Paneer and the bell peppers. You can chop the bell peppers as you like. Now you are required to cover the pan and make them cooked for about 5 to 6 minutes.
Step 10: Now you can terminate the cooking process by adding the crushed Kasuri methi.
To serve nicely, drizzle the cream on the top of the dish and make sure you are not forgetting to garnish it with the cilantro, coriander. To add richness to the dish, you can garnish these with dry fruits like cashews and almonds.
