Pembroke High School to Host Summer Football Combine

In an exciting development for South Shore’s football enthusiasts, Pembroke High School is all set to host a summer football combine on July 15. The event, organized by the school’s football coach Steve Aborn, promises an excellent opportunity for student-athletes to demonstrate their prowess.

Aborn has a proven track record of guiding players to the college level, with nine of his players from the Titans, who made the playoffs this season, heading to play college football this fall. In setting up this event, Aborn aims to provide a platform for the South Shore’s often underappreciated talent.

“We have tremendous football talent around here and it’s time they got the exposure they deserve,” said Aborn. “This event provides a golden opportunity for our kids to perform before colleges who have shown immense interest in this initiative.”

However, if you’re interested in participating, you need to act fast. The spots are filling up rapidly and are already more than halfway towards the limit of 150 players.

The event will kick off at 5 p.m. on July 15, with registration starting at 4 p.m. All MIAA high school players stepping into their junior or senior years are eligible to participate.

The combine will consist of two primary segments: testing and field drills. Athletes will undergo physical measurements, 40-yard dashes, vertical and long jumps, 5-10-5 drills, and a bench press (with a maximum weight of 185 pounds). Coaches from the area will supervise offensive and defensive drills on the field, ensuring the attending colleges receive maximum exposure to the participating players’ capabilities.

Aborn noted, “We’ve got participation from four or five Division 1 and 2 schools and a significant presence of Division 3 schools. A number of esteemed academic schools are also taking part. We’re expecting a total of 24 or 25 colleges that are fully committed.”

This event underscores Pembroke High’s commitment to promoting its students’ abilities, potentially transforming the lives of these talented youngsters. For updates and to experience this talent showcase, you can catch the high school football live on our platform.
