Reds and Leicester are locked in a close contest. Cody Gakpo gets one big chance but fails to connect with an excellent first-time pass from Alexander-Arnold.
Jurgen Klopp has chosen a starting XI that closely resembles his starting lineup from the opening day, except for Darwin Nunez being absent.
1. Luis Diaz
Liverpool winger Lewis was at the heart of their exciting game and tested James Justin with his speed and deceptive moves. He fired in some potentially dangerous deliveries which could have produced goals on another night.
86 minutes: Jota attempts to extend his side’s lead with a low shot from outside the box which Kasper Schmeichel only manages to parry away, leaving Harvey Elliott free to strike it high over the bar.
Fabinho sends in a tease for Salah to attack, but he cannot get on the end of it and the move unravels. But minutes later, Salah is once more at the heart of it all, cutting through defence before unleashing an impressive first-time strike that beats Schmeichel to put Liverpool three up – their third win in succession and seven points ahead of fourth-place Tottenham with four games still left to go!

2. Nunez
Nunez proved himself dangerous when involved and scored one of Liverpool’s finest moments on Friday evening with his second-half goal. Nunez is a Uruguay international who was one of the standout performers on Friday.
Liverpool striker has started both matches played in Singapore and was on target in their 4-4 draw against Karlsruher in Germany, marking his way for an exciting debut season at Anfield.
He will wear No 9 this season in an effort to prove himself worthy of starting positions alongside Naby Keita and Roberto Firmino.
Nunez has scored 15 times in 29 appearances since his big-money move from Benfica this summer, yet is owned by less than eight per cent of Fantasy Premier League managers. In two pre-season matches he scored three goals; making him an attractive option to add firepower and increase scoring potential for your line-up this weekend – plus available in EFL Cup competitions as well.
3. Salah
Curtis Jones scored twice to lead Liverpool past Leicester City and move within one point of relegation-threatened Leicester, giving Liverpool another step toward top four glory. Jones opened scoring on 33 minutes following an excellent delivery from Mohamed Salah, and set up Diogo Jota for one after just three minutes had passed.
Klopp made two substitutions on Saturday; Luis Diaz replaced Nunez and just narrowly missed with his shot before Salah and Jota combined for Liverpool’s third goal – with Salah cutting inside before sending an inswinging pass onto Jota who expertly placed it beyond the reach of goalkeeper.

Trent Alexander-Arnold then took it upon himself to score the decisive goal, sending a free-kick straight into the top corner with ease. This goal gave Alexander-Arnold his 13th league goal this season as he continues his impressive form as both an attacker and creator for Liverpool FC.
4. Jota
With Liverpool’s away form a concern, Jota had the chance to rectify that with two goals against Leicester. Reacting quickly to a corner kick before sending his header past Kasper Schmeichel was key to their two victories.
Schmeichel also played an instrumental role in setting up Salah’s second goal as he provided him with an assist that allowed the Egyptian to shoot under the crossbar and score again. Had Schmeichel not intervened and blocked Salah from scoring again, Salah could have scored his hat-trick goal as well.
Before this match, Jota had been linked with Wolves but has since established himself at Liverpool. He already scored against Leicester this season but his brace against them was particularly noteworthy; drifting on Joel Matip’s pass before flicking a header past Schmeichel before celebrating by nodding towards their fans – it was truly unforgettable and is testament to a promising future ahead for this winger.
