Nelson Vergara is a distinguished U.S Marine veteran, NYC Law Enforcement Professional, A.L.I.V.E Active Shooter Survival Instructor, and a member of the New York City American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS International). He is also the founder and CEO of 360 Protective Solutions, a service-disabled protective agency that provides top-notch protective services to clients in various sectors. With his expertise and experience, he has become a trusted figure in the industry and is continuously making strides in his field.
He was born on November 28, 1975, in the United States, Vergara grew up with a deep sense of patriotism and a desire to serve his country. Vergara graduated from Middle College High School in Long Island City, New York in 1994. Vergara has an academic background in Homeland Security & Emergency Management. Later, he joined the United States Marine Corps in January 1995 as an Active-Duty Infantry Mortarman with 3rd Battalion, 2nd Marines in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. His deployments included Guantanamo Bay- Cuba, Okinawa- Japan, and Bosnia in support of NATO Operation. After completing his service, he transitioned into law enforcement, where he worked for several years before deciding to venture into the private security sector.
After he was honorably discharged from the U.S Marine Corps, he joined the New York Police Department in September 2000 and was assigned to Uniformed Patrol of the 33rd Precinct in Manhattan, NY. In January 2003, he was voluntarily re-enlisted in the Marine Corps in response to the attacks of September 11, 2001. After the war ended, he volunteered for second deployment to Iraq.
In 2010, Vergara founded 360 Protective Solutions, a company that provides a wide range of protective services, including residential, corporate, and executive protection, bodyguards, non-uniformed and uniformed security, background checks, risk assessments, and accompanying services. He was then assigned to the Detective Bureau’s Manhattan Warrant Squad in 2013. In 2014, he was re-assigned to the Intelligence Division Executive Protection Unit. He became one of three Grand Marshals for the 2016 NYC Veteran’s Day Parade commemorating the 15-year anniversary of 9/11. Vergara retired on December 31st, 2021, from the NYPD. In March of 2021, nine months before retirement, he founded 360 Protective Solutions in New York.
