I recently saw the Audrey Hepburn documentary on Netflix, which is about the well-known actress, style icon, and philanthropist. I discovered so much about her, Wow. Naturally, in her later years, she dedicated her life to UNICEF, bringing attention to the appalling conditions and famine that children face worldwide. Please read up on her if you want to be motivated. Hepburn experienced malnourishment as a child during World War II. She left Hollywood at the height of her career to care for her child. She wanted to be there for her son in the same manner that her parents had not been there for her since she had not been raised by loving parents.
12 Must-Have Pieces Inspired by Audrey Hepburn
1. The trench coat
Nothing beats Audrey’s Burberry trench coat, but the more traditional style is given a modern update with the arrival of multicolored and leather trenches. As you can see below, I’m decked up in a black trench coat and, of course, pearls—another classic Audrey piece. Bright colors, particularly green, are quite in right now, and trench coats are a fashion staple. Thus, this trench is ideal. Trench coats made of real or imitation leather are particularly fashionable this year. For $15, I actually scored this leather trench at Goodwill.
2. Adoptees
I’m quite sorry that I still don’t own any loafers. Though I can’t afford them, I have my eye on a pair of Prada shoes. Audrey adored loafers and ballet flats. Ballet shoes were a natural fit for Hepburn because she was a dancer before becoming an actor. This famous photo shows Hepburn sporting black loafers. 3. Head coverings
Throughout her life, Audrey Hepburn wore scarves around her head. In the 1960s, Hepburn was the only one who looked good wearing the fashionable appearance. I adore headwear. I wear them as belts, tops, and cover-ups for swimsuits, you name it. This year, I’ve also been wearing them on my head. 4. Big and round sunglasses with cat eyes
One of the first people to wear large sunglasses was Audrey Hepburn. The famous photo below shows Holly Golightly eating breakfast out of a paper bag while standing outside of Tiffany’s. Not to mention those pearls; she’s got her signature huge, slightly cat-eyed sunglasses. A few years ago, I mimicked this well-known picture of Audrey Hepburn in front of Coffee Republic, my favorite coffee shop, as a way of paying my respects. Audrey’s huge and cat-eye styles are two of the major trends in eyeglasses for 2021. One unique variation on the cat eye sunglasses.
5. Pearls
The initial Hepburn-Pearl connection was made in the film Breakfast at Tiffany’s. This is another well-known picture of her wearing a single pearl strand. Pearls will naturally be huge in 2021, thanks in part to another style icon, Harry Styles, who pairs pearls with t-shirts and jackets. As far as I can recall, this is the first time that pearls have been worn so casually. I adore it. Why keep pearls in a box for special occasions? particularly since there aren’t many noteworthy incidents these days. Additionally, add pearls to your regular outfits. 6. A button-down, oversized white shirt
The iconic white buttondown, large by design, made Audrey Hepburn famous. Everything Oversized was popular in 2020 and will still be in 2021. The large white button down is worn in this first outfit as a layering piece beneath a sweater vest. One can dress down or dress up white button downs. In the outfit below, I wore joggers with an oversized white button down. I’m dressing as a dress in this following outfit, which is an oversized pink button down. Last but not least, I’m layering on another large, light pink button down—this time, as a jacket over a turtleneck. Also, note the pearls.

7. Trousers
Although Audrey Hepburn was known for her slim black capris, you can see below that she also wore cropped or capri pants in a variety of designs and stripes. Audrey, incidentally, wore a lot of striped slacks and shirts. In 2021, capris are essential. There are wide-legged capri pants, slim capris, capri yoga pants, and capris with vibrant designs and stripes. Pumps or shoes can be used to dress them up or down. Capris are a stylish and comfortable option for spring and summer.
8. Dresses with Halter
In addition, Audrey Hepburn was well-known for her halter gowns. Dresses and halter tops are always in and out of style. The 1990s and early 2000s saw a resurgence in halter top popularity. However, they resurface in the spring of 2021. Halter tops are typically loved or hated by women. It draws attention to the shoulders, a feature of the body that most people are comfortable with. However, some people find that halters can be unpleasant due to the neck tie, and you obviously can’t wear a regular bra with them. They are back, if you adore them. Ignore this trend if you hate them. I found this halter at a secondhand store. It also exudes the stylish retro print vibe that will be quite popular in 2021.
9. An early adopter of cigarettes pants
In addition to altering women’s fashion, Audrey Hepburn inspired women to embrace a look that is effortlessly stylish and comfortable by making cigarette pants a mainstay in their closets.
