How to do Boat Pose:
- Boat Pose, also known as Navasana in Sanskrit, is a challenging yoga posture that engages the entire body, particularly the core muscles. Here are the steps to perform Boat Pose:
- Start by sitting on a yoga mat with your legs extended in front of you.
- Place your hands on the mat behind your hips, with your fingers pointing towards your feet.
- Inhale and lift your chest up, lengthening your spine.
- Exhale and bend your knees, lifting your feet off the mat so that your thighs are at a 45-degree angle to the ground.
- Extend your arms forward, parallel to the ground, with your palms facing each other.
- Balance on your sitting bones, engaging your core muscles.
- Keep your chest lifted, gaze forward, and breathe steadily.
- Hold the pose for 5 to 10 breaths, or as long as you can maintain proper form.
- To release the pose, exhale and lower your feet and arms back to the mat.
Benefits of Boat Pose:
- Strengthens the core muscles, including the abdominal muscles, back muscles, and hip flexors.
- Improves balance and stability.
- Stimulates the digestive system and helps relieve constipation.
- Tones the legs and improves flexibility in the hip joints.

Cautions:
- Avoid this pose if you have lower back pain or injury.
- If you have high or low blood pressure, consult your doctor before performing this pose.
- If you have a neck injury, keep your gaze forward instead of looking up.
